Ocean Matcher is a web based tool that fuses improved ocean funding and impact with intelligent matchmaking utilizing advanced technologies such as language models and machine learning. The tool helps philanthropy search and find relevant projects through a web interface. Ocean Matcher will be a paradigm shift in the allocation of funding for the ocean, steering us closer to a healthier planet.
Information we collect and why we need it
1. Visitors to our website
When you visit https://www.app.oceanmatcher.com/ we use a third-party service, Plausible to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. Unique visitors, page views and visit duration. We do this to find out such things as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way that does not directly identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Plausible to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.
These are first-party cookies. Ocean Matcher as platform provider is Data Controller (Noa Ignite acts as Data Controller on behalf of Ocean Matcher platform provider until Ocean Matcher entity is established). Noa Ignite is our data processor and does not use the information for their own purposes. Data is stored in an Azure Database Postgres SQL database located in a European Tenant (Europe West). The information is protected by the EU standard contractual clauses (SCCs), which you may read more about here:

3. Tracking our logged in users
For the purposes of improving the functionality of the platform and user interaction, we will track and store user actions using business intelligence software. The legal basis for our processing is our legitimate interest in improving and developing the Ocean Matcher for the benefit of our users.

We will communicate during the pilot through Slack and Slack data privacy terms will apply.
